Angst

It's funny how untamed emotions
Control your easy mind
Resulting in inexcusable
Irrational decisions which
You regret the whole time
Overreactions, insensitivity
Useless rage and heavy sarcasm
Do we do it out of habit?
Involuntarily turn mountains out of molehills?
A disease so vile
Rips apart priceless bonds
And once this illness
Has consumed you whole
And the want to be cured
Increases day by day
Part of you thinks its right
The other part just wants to get away
But the only way to free yourself
Is to fight against your alter ego
For the battle wages on inside us
And only we can stop
This terrible angst.
